Baccarat Systems

As much as any player would like to hear somebody say there is a baccarat system that guarantees success all of the time, there just simply is not.  And although you may actually hear somebody say there is, do not believe them.  More likely than not this person will be trying to sell you their "secret strategy" that has made them millions.

Indeed, there are several bankroll strategies, commonly called systems, that gamblers use on a daily basis.  Some of these players win, and some of them lose.  Overall, there really is no consistency to these systems.  It is hard to predict when they will win, and when they will lose.  One thing for certain is that when they do win or lose, they usually do so in a big way - often to one extreme or the other.  But just like gambling, it is a risk that many players like to take.

One of the best and most popular betting systems used at the baccarat table is the Martingale System.  The way it works is that for every losing bet, the player doubles their stake amount for the next bet, and so on.  For instance, if the bettor is playing with $5 stakes, if they were to lose a hand, they would bet $10 on the very next hand.  If this hand were to lose, the player would bet $20 on the hand after.  The idea is that all previous losses are covered by increasing stake sizes.  Since the odds of winning are 50/50 for one of the only bets a player can make at baccarat, the Martingale System does have its good side when playing online baccarat.  The only caution to players is to not get out of control using this system.  For a string of consecutive losing hands, the stake amounts can get very high and very scary.  Only use this system if you are playing with money you can afford to lose and can handle being deep in the hole.  Only with consistency and commitment can the full potential of the Martingale system have its positive effect.

Card Counting Baccarat System

Baccarat does indeed allow for card counting, in terms of the game's structure.  Much like blackjack, the odds of certain hands forming does change every time a card leaves the show.  However, in blackjack, there are many more possibilities of hand outcomes and actions which the player can make, giving card counting more merit (since the odds fluctuate substantially).  But the odds do not substantially fluctuate in baccarat to give ample reason to use card counting.  As I said, it can be done; However, it is not worth the effort.  In fact, it is nine times less effective than it is in a game of blackjack.  The most substantial odds change is when 4's and 6's leave the shoe.  Therefore, if you would still like to count cards, count the 4's and 6's.  When more 6's have left the shoe than 4's, the odds are slightly more better for the Bank Hand to win, while more burned 6's than 4's warrants better odds on the Player Hand to win.
